Cultural Festivals 

The objective of the Indian Association of Sønderborg is to promote an understanding of Indian culture and its rich heritage. To provide a home away from home and a means to develop a common bond of trust and friendship through Cultural activities. To create a platform for members to express their talents and creativity by engaging in Cultural, traditional, and community-related activities.

National Festivals

Indian Association of Sønderborg would take all effort to celebrate as many Indian festivals as possible to ensure that the children understand the history and cultural reasons behind celebrating these festivals.

Badminton Coaching

A great start to learning the game of Badminton where you will be taught the fundamental rules of badminton. Those who already play the game might be able to pick on some advanced game skills. Open for all age groups.

 

Time: Saturdays between 4:00 to 6:00 pm.

Children from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.

Adults from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.


Venue: Sønderskov Hallen


Session duration: 60 minutes for each age category

Bharatanatyam Classes

Bharatanatyam is like dreaming in your feet. It is not a technique, but a way of expression that comes more closely to the inner language. So, come and participate in the Bharatanatyam dance and bring the balance between perfection and beauty

Danish Classes

Learning another language is not only learning different words for the same things, but learning another way to think about things. – Flora Lewi

Knowledge of Danish will be a great help to integrate with local society. It also helps to understand other Scandinavian languages such as Norwegian and Swedish.

Endurance Training

All the skills and tactics in the world will be of no use if an athlete does not have the endurance to support them. Badminton creates an interesting challenge from a conditioning perspective. The individual rallies are 7 - 15 second bursts of high-intensity efforts. This requires a well-developed Anaerobic A-Lactic System.

 

 

Time: Every Sunday - 4:00 to 6:00 pm


Venue: Sønderskov Hallen


Session length: 120 minutes for Childrens. (Age Category: 9 to 15 years)

Kids Yoga

Invites children to learn and practice Yoga, a heritage of India. Children will learn practices for proper breathing, movement, balance, concentration, and awareness. The yoga sessions include asanas, pranayama, and meditation which improves concentration, flexibility, mind-body coordination, and makes one relax. Of course, not to forget the health benefits associated with and loads of fun.

Don’t be surprised if your kid starts to teach you a few asanas, hum a few yoga sutras when playing or bathing, tell a few stories about their practice and the benefits.

 

The session includes a briefing about each asana, its benefits, practices, stretches, and relaxation.
